I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream

What else could “I” be but ice cream??

And that’s simple, you ask? Why, yes. Yes, it is. the small countertop freezers – where you put a sealed container in the freezer, then just pull it out when you are ready to make ice cream and easy to use and require no ice or salt or guessing proportions. And vanilla ice cream recipe requires only 4 ingredients that need to be stirred. but to that basic recipe you can add chocolate chips or strawberries or peaches, or even  (with a little microwaving of the chocolate &n milk) an amazing chocolate ice cream. I’ve posted the strawberry/peach version before on the blog with pictures, but here’s the basic vanilla recipe:

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups (1 pint) heavy cream, chilled
  • 1-2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract to taste

In a medium bowl, stir the milk and granulated sugar until sugar is dissolved, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla. Then, turn the machine on, pour mixture into the freezer bowl, and let mix until thickened, about 20 – 30 minutes. it will be soft, but put into another container and put in the freezer for about 2 hours, and it firms up nicely so it’s scoopable. If you freeze it overnight or longer, and it gets really hard in your freezer,setting in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes will let it soften a little for easier serving,
