This was my first visit back to the Farmer’s Market after a long vacation. When I last visited, it was mid-June, and there were only a few tomatoes, some baby squash, and still lots of lettuces, spinach and spring vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli and leeks.
But now – wow!! Blueberries are in! Peaches are in! Cantaloupes! Watermelon! Tomatoes! Corn! Peppers! Squash! Zucchini! everything seems to be in. And everything seems to be a little early here, too. The cherry and smaller tomatoes look great. Some of the most beautiful peppers I have even seen – large and slightly dusky. Delicious!
Raw veggies for me this week – just slice and or toss onto the salad. And peach ice cream as soon as the peaches ripen a little.
